Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how ID Assist Pro ("we", "our", or "us"), operated by Valluri Technologies, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application ("ID Assist Pro" or "the App") and associated services.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use the App:

Account Information:

• Mobile phone number (used for OTP-based login)
• Organisation name, type (School, College, Government)
• Organisation logo image
• Card design preferences and field configurations

Student / Employee Records (entered by you):

• Name, date of birth, class/section, roll number, designation
• Contact details (address, phone number)
• Blood group
• Passport-size photographs
• Signature images (where applicable)

Device and Usage Information:

• Device token for push notifications (Firebase FCM)
• App version and crash logs (for debugging purposes only)

How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected solely for the following purposes:

• To authenticate your account via OTP login
• To generate and display ID card previews within the App
• To process and fulfill your ID card print orders
• To send order status updates via push notifications
• To generate and deliver digital invoices
• To push custom card designs to your App (Pro feature)
• To improve App performance and fix technical issues

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing profiling, or sell it to any third party.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using the following services:

• Local device storage — Student records and card settings are stored on your device for offline access
• Supabase (PostgreSQL) — Organisation profile and order data stored on secure cloud servers
• Firebase Storage — Photos, invoices and print batch files stored securely on Google Firebase
• Railway — Our backend API server processes print orders and generates invoices

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, access controls on our backend, and secure API authentication using secret keys.

While we take all reasonable precautions to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Print fulfillment — Student/employee details and photos are shared with our printing facility solely for the purpose of producing ID cards you have ordered
• Service providers — We use Google Firebase, Supabase, and Railway as infrastructure providers. These services process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies
• Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process

Student and Employee Data

ID Assist Pro processes personal data of students and employees on behalf of the institution using the App. The institution (school, college, or government organization) is responsible for:

• Obtaining appropriate consent from students, parents, or employees before entering their data into the App
• Ensuring the data entered is accurate and up to date
• Complying with applicable data protection laws in their jurisdiction

We process this data only as directed by the institution and solely for the purpose of producing ID cards.

Photos and Images

The App requests access to your device camera and photo gallery for the purpose of capturing or selecting passport-size photographs for ID cards.

• Photos are captured or selected only when you explicitly initiate the action
• Photos are cropped and compressed within the App and stored locally on your device
• Photos are uploaded to Firebase Storage only when you submit a print order
• Photos are shared with our printing facility only for the purpose of printing ID cards
• We do not use photos for any other purpose including facial recognition or analytics

Push Notifications

The App uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications for:

• Order status updates (e.g. order received, printing, dispatched, delivered)
• Custom card design updates pushed by our team

Your device token is stored securely and used only to deliver notifications relevant to your account. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services. Each has its own Privacy Policy:

• Google Firebase (FCM, Storage, Hosting) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• Supabase (Database) — supabase.com/privacy
• Railway (Backend API) — railway.app/legal/privacy

Data Retention

We retain data for the following periods:

• Student/employee records — Retained as long as your account is active or as needed to fulfill print orders
• Print batch ZIP files — Deleted within 30 days after order delivery
• Invoice PDFs — Retained for 1 year for accounting purposes
• Photos — Retained as long as the student record exists in the system
• Account data — Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at support@idassist.in.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access — Request a copy of data we hold about your organisation
• Correction — Update or correct inaccurate data through the App or by contacting us
• Deletion — Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Portability — Request an export of your student records
• Withdrawal of consent — Stop using the App and request data deletion at any time

Children's Privacy

ID Assist Pro is intended for use by institutional administrators (adults) only. The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 as end users.

While the App processes data about students (including minors) for the purpose of ID card creation, this data is entered and managed by adult administrators at the institution, not by the students themselves.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13 as an end user, please contact us immediately at support@idassist.in.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App or by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
